Miss Yankey draws inspiration from so many sources; but if she had to narrow it down she would say music and nature. When she was a little girl she used to take the album sleeves out of CDs and copy out the lyrics of songs she liked. She's always been fascinated by rhyming schemes and storytelling, and to this day she finds herself studying peoples bars. She also spends a lot of time outside, it keeps her grounded and gives her space to think. It’s not uncommon for Miss Yankey to walk for a couple of hours and record voice notes with concepts / ideas along the way.
